The fishery is well stocked with good hard fighting fish from fish suppliers such as the River A-E and Belhaven Trout farms. Fish range from 2lbs average to well into double figures and includes rainbows, browns, blues, tiger and brook trout. Fish stocking is done on a basis of 'we put them in you take them out' although in recent years catch & release is becoming more prominent and Lawfield has no problems with this as long as rules are obeyed.
The fishing lodge at Lawfield is very comfortable with good seating area and a cosy log-burning stove. Anglers can purchase hot & cold drinks and snacks are available. There is a small amount of tackle for sale and also good parking facilities along with both male & female toilets.
Disabled anglers are also made welcome - and just outside the lodge is a great place for them to fish.
The wildlife around Lawfield is also in abundance and while you are fishing you may see the deer feeding on the marsh at the end of the loch. Birdlife is second-to-none at Lawfield and to name a few we have all types of tits, finches, ducks, swans, geese, grebes or dabchicks, woodpecker, buzzards, wagtail, heron, curlews, swallows, plovers, kingfishers .......there are many more to keep you occupied while you fish the day away.
We also have a small bait pond which we call the Family Pond it is great for teaching the kids to fish and schools in the area make good use of it on Activities Week it is great for a family to come to teach the kids to fish, have a picnic and enjoy the countryside on a nice day.Click on the images to enlarge
